What I Learnt in food technology - By April

In technology I did Advanced Food.  In Advanced Food we where learning different skills to help us in the future.  Some foods we made where; Bread Rolls, Chia and Banana Pudding, Gnocchi with Tomatoe/Mushroom Sauce and Banana and Chocolate Ice-Cream.  A couple of things we learnt where Kneading and how to cut an onion a smarter way and also ho to make butter out of cream.

We first learnt how to knead.  to be able to knead you need to have the right technique or you will have sticky bread dough.  Yeast needs to have water, suger, heat and air to be able to make the bread rise.  So when you knead you have to make sure you get all the carbon dioxide out of the dough and try to get keep the dough warm.

When we finish make the bread and it was in the oven we learnt how to make homemade butter.  We watched a youtube video about butter and that when  you shake cream that has been at room tempreture for 12hrs it will turn into yummy homemade butter.  The cream has little bubbles that when poped it will create the little bits of butter and when they all pop it will create the butter.  After we learnt how to make butter we leart how to cut an onion like Jamie Oliver!

When we where in food tech we learnt how to cut an onion like Jamie Oliver.  We watch a quick video of Jamie Oliver showing us how he cuts.  It looks really hard but its actually really easy to do but it is also very dangerous if you dont controll yourself with the knife or else you could cut you or others around.  We only used the oinion in the sauces so we only cried once!  We all thought that the onion would be rally hard and we would cut ourselfs but we didn't.

The main thing is that we learnt alot of cooking skills that can help us in the future. Thanks to Mrs Holley for teaching us those amazing skills that I know I will use when im older if I remember.
