Rhys' final year!!!

This year has been the grand finale to my experience at Reremoana. I have spent 8 years at this school and my last year has definitely been my best. Mr Fourie has been the greatest teacher by far in my life. Any body that has him must realize what he does and gives for his students. There is nothing that i could of done better at this year because i think that i did everything to the best of my ability. 

I would like to say THANK YOU to all my friends and to all my BOIZ and i would like to wish the year sevens good luck for next year. Ill miss my buddy TAE TAE and JAY JAY and MAXC and LEMON and DEAKAN COZ HE IS PRO YOLO. YOU GUYZ ARE THE BEST

For my self I had to develop some questions. I realized that there would be a lot more to my self inquiry than I thought.

  How would I Make the bass drop?

If I use garage band to its full potential it will help me with certain spots like with affects which will help me to develop the song.

For my self inquiry i would like to create a whole 2 minute Dub step song using garage band. 

I want to do this because i really enjoy listening to Dub step music and i think it will be a great challenge for me. i think that creating your music is really cool because if people like it it gives you a feeling of a complishment.

M friend is new too this school and has already made lots of friends. He is a really fun person to be around and always makes me laugh!!! We always hangout at the dairy and park doing nothing. We have the same interests which are sports, black ops 2 and FOOD!!!!!

M friend has brown hair and hates hair cuts. He hates complicated things because they confuse him. He never wears shoes cause he's Maori like that and he thinks they don't suit him. We both like to torment our brothers and laugh when they get in trouble. He loves to play touch and league at the park but like me he gets confused with the rules.

He has the funniest seance of humor and he shows it when we are at the dairy getting a feed. My friend is the funniest person i know and he will always be there to make me laugh.

Today I am going to convince you to encourage contact sports in schools. I strongly think this because of my strong passion for sports like Rugby league and Rugby. It is disappointing that we have to play on a club level because these sports are not in our school.

To write this speech I have done a survey at school, researched what the benefits are, the skills they improved and what I can do about it. 

 

I think that bringing contact sports into schools will definitely benefit the students of the school. I know this because it will open more opportunities for them and when there are more opportunities it will boost their self confidence and will make them want to get involved in more sports. For example: most boys need to get out on the field and get rid of their energy and tackling, running and rough play make them feel alive. Boys need a certain level of contact sports to grow bigger and stronger.

The teachers would definitely appreciate boys back in the classroom after playing a contact sport as they will be quieter and more ready for learning…..

It will also open leadership opportunities inside the student body, which will help develop skills for the future. Teachers will recognise the potential in students.

Of course sports like this will make you fit and healthy but you don’t know what they exactly do. First it increases your endurance. Endurance is an ability of an organism to exert itself and remain active for longer periods.

Also your cardio vascular system . Your cardio vascular system permits blood circulation to transport nutrients like electrolytes through out your body. Doing contact sports decreases the risk of obesity which in some places is a problem.

But that can all change if we do contact sports at school. Because if we play , train hard and have fun at school there is less chance that we will achieve more as adults.

As you carry on playing contact sports you develop more skills and start to improve the way you play But not only are you improving on your fitness and the way you play, you are also improving your mental skills. For example: By doing Karate your reflexes get quicker therefore making your mental mind sharp. Also by doing Karate you start to see the easier way to beat the opponent and win the battle.

When we bring contact sports into school we will need supervision and I am sure Mr Fourie or Mr Munro would love to take time out of their very busy lives to supervise us because I know how much Mr Fourie loves rugby

  Being a student leader I can put forward my ideas to Mrs Holley but it is pointless if I don’t have anybody to back me up. So if you are confident like me and you think that this can go some where like starting a club up for the school. I would love to start up a club before I leave so I can say that was me that started that.

Warriors update / Rhys

HI GUYS!!!!!!
OMG today was so awesome because the Warriors WASTED the Raiders for their last home game of the season and I was at Mt smart to see it!!!!!!

In the first half the Warriors kicked off with a try from Elijah Taylor which Shaun Johnson converted in the first moments of the game. ( Elijah Taylor had $4 for him to score the first try if that means anything to any one). The raiders fought back with a try to Jarred Crocker which he converted to make the score level in the 18th minute. He caught Warriors again and ran 70 meters to pick up a double. A fast break away left the Raiders defence scattered all over the field. Manu quickly took action and scored to make it 10 - 12. That try was sadly unconverted. 1 minute later Manu scores again after some really lazy defence from the Raiders. The try was converted to make the score 16 - 12. Manu wasn't finished just yet when he scored yet again to put the warriors in front at half time. The score was 20 - 12.        

In the second half Shaun Johnson ripped into the Raiders Straight away when he scored to make it 26 - 12. Shaun Johnson showing no mercy when he got the intercept and ran 50 meters to make the score 32 - 12. He was on fire in the first minutes of the second half because he scored again to make the score 38 - 12. Simon Mannering picked up a try as well which boosted the Warriors in to a 32 point lead. Finally from the Warriors Ngani Laumape made it 50 - 12 but the Raider showed a lot of heart when Jarred Crocker scored in the final moments to make the score 50 - 16.

This was a really fun night for me and I managed to get a beanie and a awesome flag out of it so I hope the warriors make the top 8, they are on the verge of making it but it all depends on next week when they face the dragons!!!!         

Allblacks update / Rhys

 This week the Allblacks won their match against Australia. In the first minutes the australians were leading 6 - 0 but that wasn't for long cause the Allblacks quickly scored a try to put them in-front. At half time the score was 15 - 6. In the second half the Allblacks extended their lead to 27 - 9 to win the game.

Warriors update / Rhys

Returning to the warriors side after a knee injury was Jerome Ropati and man did he have a great game. Finally the warriors stopped their losing streak after three games with their win against the gold coast titans. At half time it was 16 - 10 to the titans which isn't a really good start for the warriors but they turned that around quickly in the second half to win 24 - 22.

Next week the warriors face the raiders who are currently placed right behind us in 12th place. Cant wait for the game!!!!!!!!

This week the warriors faced the Penrith Panthers at Mt smart stadium. In the first half the Warriors had the lead 12 - 10 but sadly lost that lead early in the second half when the panthers came back with another three tries to put them in front 12 - 28. the warriors went down fighting and scored to make it 24 - 28. The Warriors are currently placed 13th on the premiership ladder and will have to pick up their wins so they can make the top 8.

Sadly the warriors have suffered two disappointing loses and have lost there chances of a grand final.
Last week they lost against the sharks. The score was 14 - 16. If the warriors had a better start and got more points on the board earlier there was a good chance that they could of one that.

Recently the warriors faced the sea eagles and finish like they always. The warriors lost 30 - 20 and that sadly cost them their top 8 chance.

Did we forget something? / Rhys

One bright and sunny evening four friends went for a day of fun. They went to an indoor paintball arena just outside the boarder of un-dead valley. In the arena it was a dark and spooky place with paint splattered everywhere. Since it was getting dark the owner turned all the lights on appeared at the counter with his mask on. We were paying when he got a phone call and this person had a very weird and creepy voice. We could just make out what he said " as promised there will be one nailed to the wall for you".........

Since it was Sam, Blake and Jeremy's first time they were pretty freaked out about getting shot. They were all scared but Rhys wasn't. If anything he was feeling a bit to confident and devious. For him it was becoming a hobby.

Once they were finished gearing up everybody started to feel more confident in them selves and the look on Rhys' face meant that there is going to be so vengeance in the up coming battle. By the time they started the first round it was 8:00pm and Sam's mum still hadn't checked on them but we didn't mind they to play. The starting horn went off and we were ready to fight. Seconds later they all heard a door slam and the lights were turned of but they thought that the owner was just trying to scare them. Rhys looked at his ammo to check how much he had left and noticed that they were glow in the dark paintballs so he yelled " HEY CHECK IT OUT TH PAINTBALLS ARE GLOW IN DARK''
and then everybody shot the walls. They carried on with there game

Shot after shot after shot. There was a constant firing in the arena with little 3-4 second silences. In one of those silences we heard a loud groan it sounded like a zombie from black ops 2. Sam and Jeremy silently gapped it over to Rhys and Blake. We all heard slow footsteps creeping closer to Rhys and Blake. It stopped for a brief moment and then started to creep towards Sam and Jeremy. Rhys and Blake were guarding the left side and Sam and Jeremy were guarding the right side. More footsteps creped up on Sam and Jeremy until it stopped. Sam had the expression on his face that said what the heck is happening. Jeremy was so relived when the footsteps had stopped he let out a massive sigh when it all went wrong. Rhys shrugged and went back to guarding his side. They all heard a massive roar that echoed in the arena when they realised that Jeremy was gone.

Everybody was freaking out and it didn't get better for them because then these things attacked. Millions of slow foot steps moving in on the on target Sam Blake and Rhys. Waiting to see one of these beings. Waiting for something to show a bit of its body. Waiting for some one to step up and lead them so Sam and Rhys they both said "COME AT ME".
Mean while Blake is still in the corner freaking out thinking are these guys crazy they are so crazy. Coming around the corner Rhys saw a foot, then its arm then its eyes. That things eyes were blue but it wasn't there long enough to confirm because Rhys had already shot its head off. The rest of its body evaporated into dust and so the battle began. Bullet after bullet one zombie went down one at a time but they quickly learnt and adapted to Sam Blake and Rhys' defence. They came in twos, Threes even fours. They climbed walls and the obstacles. Rhys realised that he was running low on ammo. First Blake ran out then Sam and then Rhys. Luckily Rhys had bought just enough time for a plan. Rhys looked at Sam and said "well we tried we came this far and I'm not going out like this"
Sam said " What's the plan ''?
Rhys said " its the paint don't like the paint that's why they evaporate!"
Rhys wiped the wall and smeared it all over his knuckles and said '' this is my plan "
He goes up to a zombie and smacks it right in the jaw knocks his head of and looks at Sam. wiping the walls punching the zombies trying to keep there distance.

They weren't looking behind them and got a massive fright when they heard paintball gun fire. " Its the owner " Sam screams. He cleared the whole lot of zombies with his fully automatic paintball gun. Everybody was so relived because the battle was all over. The owner turned the lights on and hurried us out and locked the door. Rhys looked backed and the owner took his mask off Rhys saw a glance and saw the blue eyes..........

When Sam Rhys and Blake got home they had a feeling that they left something behind.................

The owner goes into the arena and as he was promised by the mysterious man on the phone a body for him nailed to the wall to fest on.                          

PACIFIC RIM / Rhys

HI GUYS!!!!!!!!

So on Thursday I went to the most epic movie out right now. I went and saw Pacific Rim. The movie is about legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, that's when a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots,defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse. (c) Warner Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenceless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. What will the humans do save themselves from extinction.   

I thought that I was let down because my expectations were so high from everybody telling me about how cool it was but other than that it was epic!!!!!!!
