How soccer works. By April

Soccer is a very common game for all genders to play and is very competitive at times.  It is played with a round ball and the aim of the game is to get as many goals in the soccer goal only using your feet to controll the ball.  Its a game with alot of teamwork, passing and training.  In soccer you need to have a team.

A big part of soccer are the teams.  Soccer teams have about 10-13 players but when playing a game only 9 players are allowed on the field and the rest are subs on the side lines.   When you get older the amount of people in each team and on the field increases.  Teamwork is the main thing about soccer because of passing and shooting are the only ways to get goals.

Passing and shooting is how the whole game works.  To pass to your team mate you use the inside of your foot so its more controlled than toe hacking it and passing to the opposition team so they score.  Shooting is the only chance to win.  It could either be a great shot and get a goal or miss and the opposition goalie takes the goal kick.  The positions are apart of soccer too.

The positions that are apart of soccer are; Goal Keeper (GK), Defender (D), Midfielder(MF), Stricker(S) or even a Sub (SUB).  GK is the most boring spot ever.  All you do is stand in goal and catch the ball.  D is important, you are like a body guard trying to prevent the other team from getting a goal.  MF are the people who are up and down the field helping out everywhere. S are the ones who can go to goal and shoot.

In conclusion, soccer is an all gender sport that has alot more things than just teams, passing, shooting and position. Soccer is a very fun sport that many people play and enjoy!
