How to use a soldering iron?- Jansje

Soldering is used to join two objects together by melting the solder wire onto the copper that is connecting to the components on the circuit.

The solder is made up of two different metals, These metals are 60% tin and 40% lead. This type of solder is used in electronics and is called resin core. The resin is in the center of the solder and is used to clean the surface of the components to be joined together.

The soldering iron melts at 180 degrees and if touched by skin it keeps burning the skin cells and takes a very long time to cool down.  To prevent this from happening place your hand on the plastic handle and hold it at a 45 degree angle.

In soldering there are a lot of rules such as; removing jackets, pulling up sleeves, holding solder correctly and a lot more. There are also a lot of components like; circuit board, resisters, power diodes, transistors and a lot more.

Soldering can be very difficult but by following these tips and being confident you can have a great time soldering!
