Camp of the Year! - Sam

On the 22nd of October, the year 7 & 8's went to the amazing Peter Snell Youth Village (P.S.Y.V). We took an awesome bus there and the kids in the bus had great time and were very loud! When we arrived, we unloaded the all the luggage and put them in the cabins.

After we got sorted, we had a quick brief of rules and boundaries of the camp site. Later the groups started the activities which were AWESOME! There were six different events. The initiative course, absaling, rock climbing, camp cooking, archery and rifles. We went through every activity throughout camp.

On the first night all students went through the burma trail. Along story short... it was frightening! Also we made stick bread which is as sweat type of bread, but it is very yummy!

The following morning we had to do a morning run which was basically the burma trail backwards, It was roughly four kilometers. Next we would have breakfast then get ready for the day. This was mainly our every morning routine.

We had our talent show on the second night. In first place: Girl Power which had an outstanding performance. In second place: L.Y.L.T (Love You Long Time) which was funny and entertaining. And in third place: Telea which were also very good. So they really deserve their placing. We also had to perform the cotton eye joe line dance with team against team. Gladly the BOSS TEAM WON! (a.k.a my team.) Then we went to bed.

The following day we had a turn on the massive water slide which looked terrifying and daring. But we had to do it... when you lye down you get the butterflies then wooooossssh! Down you go.

Later we went to the amazing SNOW PLANET! We started of with the basics which were boring. Since I all ready new how to do the stuff, I went to the top and boy did I have fun! I even went over the jump but snow went up my pants and it was freezing!

That night we had the Y games...
A bunch of crazy stuff bunched into one! It was a team event and the hole way through it was neck and neck. But sadly the OLDZ won! How is that possible?

The next day we packed up and sadly left. Thanks to all the parents that came along. And a big thanks to Mr Munro and Mr Fourie for making this day possible.
