My name is Mr Fourie, I have been teaching for the past 17 years - 8 years here in New Zealand.
I was born and raised in the land of the mighty Springbok - South Africe, and yes I still support them. I did my teaching degree at the Northwest university and started teaching in 1996. I pride myself in the fact that I go to work and enjoy what I do.
We moved to New Zealand late in 2004 and have enjoyed living here since we arrived. I am married to Mrs Fourie also teaching here at Reremoana School. We have three children, Jorien in year 7, Johanri in year 5 and Yandri will start school in October. Then for a year and a couple of months all three my children will be in Reremoana school, not because they have to be here, but because I believe it is the best learning option for them at the given time.
I do believe that a happy learner is a good learner. So it is important for students to find their place in our school community. A safe place to work, socialise, play and learn. Once that happens learning with be a pleasent occation - Every day.
We set goals, work hard, talk to eachother. We have drive, desire and determination. We are positive and patient in our learning. Asking someone to help you or show you how to do is a smart move.
Welcome to Room 11 in 2013. I trust we will have a great time working together.
