Milo Shield Tournament!

On Thursday the 21st February 2013 the Reremoana Girls Cricket team played in the first round of the Milo shield competition. The Milo shield is a nation wide cricket tournament for girls. This year we played in the first qualifying tournament at Mountford Park.

The three teams that played in the tournament was Reremoana School, The Gardens School and Manurewa Intermediate School. To prepare ourselves for this challenge Mr Fourie arrange for practices on Wednesday to Friday mornings from 7:30 - 8:30 and also every lunchtime. This helped a lot because now we understand the game and we enjoy playing it.

We played well and had a great time. We won the tournement by beating both of our oponents in very tough matches. Playing two games in a row was challenging.

A huge congratulations to every girls in our team. A big thanks to the Coach Mr Fourie, Alvin Strydom who helped out, all the parents and grandparents for helping with transport and Mr Pete Mesley for taking these awesome photos.

Luke's vegetable garden

My vegetable garden grows well because it is growing in good soil. We water the plants every day. I take care care of them by looking if there is any fruit on them. If there is some rotten ones I throw them away.

Our plants grow into strong plants because we water it every day. They are planted into rich soil. This gives them food to grow. We regularly pull out the weeds. This gives our plants more room to grow in.

Kyle's vegetable garden

The plants in our vegetable garden grows into strong plants because we water them daily. We also look after them by giving them plant food, this helps them grow big and give healthy vegetables and fruit.

Jaylen's vegetable garden

The vegetables are growing nice and tall. They are strong plants because they are getting plenty of sunshine. If it doesn't rain we water them regularly. On weekends we sometimes take out the weeds. This gives the plants more room to grow in.

Mikyla's vegetable garden

Our vegetable garden works very well because the plants have been growing in very good soil. My aunty have got green fingers, that is an idiom for someone who loves working in the garden. She cares for the plants and that is why they are growing so beatifully.

Gemma's vegetable Garden

Our vegetable garden works well because we use a sprinkler system to water the plants regularly. Our strawbetty plants are so happy in this environment that they are taking over the entire space.
Good thing I like strawberries.

Blake's vegetable garden.

Our vegetable garden is working very well, because we use a lot of compost to help the plants grow. I gives the plants the food they need to produce heatlhy vegetables and fruit.

My dad looks after it very well. he waters it every day, takes out the weeds and spaces the vegetables out so they have lots of room to grow into beautiful plants.

Lucy's Vegetable Garden

We have decided to place our vegetable garden at home in a position that it would get enough sun. One area will get morning sun, while the other one is happy with lovely afternoon sun.

This helps because the plants needs an balance between sun, shade and water.

Vegetable Gardens at School.

Room 11 have got a dilemma.
We are not happy with the vegetable garden at school. We are investigating what went wrong last year. We had a look at the gardens at school and took some photos of our own ones. We are now looking at what works at home and what we can do to make the school garden be more successful.
